Blogging has been a hobby because I really enjoy writing. I plan to increase my content and potentially make an income out it in the future.
I also recently started a YouTube channel last year (YouTube: Mimmacula's Lounge) IG handle: @m.loungeandevents. I wanted to be on a bigger platform allowing me to express myself differently than blogging. I have thoroughly been enjoying the journey of writing and creating content and it lies well with my future business projects under my brands Mimmacula yet to be revealed.
On my blog I share all the things I'm interested in whether it's fashion, food, advice, self care, motivation. I'd say I express myself mostly in a way of uplifting people, I am an advocate for self care and self love and definitely speak on those quiet often. I also share my faith and my struggles because again we all go through things in life.
While, On my YouTube channel, it's almost the same thing however with a visual twist. My segments are conversations, challenges, culture, food, vlogs and lifestyle. On my channel I bring out my friends, have fun challenges together, I show my cooking skills, my DIY projects, give advice and encouragement, and talk about self-care.
My blog allows me to be able to share on a platform where people are able to read, relate or even learn a thing or two is what drove me towards blogging. To be fair I didn't even think anyone would read my posts but I am grateful people do. With my YouTube channel, mostly my friends and family always told me I had the confidence for YouTube, although I wasn't really feeling this idea, I figured since I'd started my blogging page, I could carry on the brand to a bigger platform and also saw the benefits it will have on some of my business projects.
Now that I am taking a different approach to using the platforms that I have, I am hoping to gain more opportunities. Grow as an individual as well as an entrepreneur. In five years I'd like to have completely developed my brand in many different ways.
I would also like to experience other platforms too such as podcast. The aim is to be self - employed which lines up with the projects I'm currently working on. The projects I am currently working on are very exciting and although I cannot speak of them yet... Watch this space.
